Venga Venga (Snowmass)

Located on the mountain in Snowmass Village, Venga Venga means let’s go, let’s go…and you should!  Warming fire pits welcome guests onto the outdoor patio, where panoramic mountain views round out the experience.  Enjoy the guacomole (prepared tableside), baja tacos or the shrimp iron skillet fajitas.  Yum….  (and it’s open for apres ski from 3-6 pm).

The Red Onion

Aspen’s oldest restaurant and bar recently reopened to good reviews after an extensive restoration.   It needed a deep cleaning!  Now sparkling clean, the food is good, the beer flows, the service rocks and the prices are reasonable.

Willow Creek Bistro (Highlands)

Located in the Ritz, Willow Creek delivers when it comes to taste, of course.  You’ll see local ski instructors with their students taking their lunch breaks in winter.  Or enjoy the mountain view dining al fresco in the summer.  And you gotta love the ice sculpture / bar outside during ski season (great apres, too)!

Justice Snow’s

Located in the iconic Wheeler House, Justice Snow’s opened up in January 2012 to much fanfare by the locals.  Colorado inspired and ridiculously affordable, Justice Snow’s open 365 days a year for lunch and dinner.  Named after the Justice of the Peace, Mr. Snow in the 1880′s, it’s is a place where day laborers, business people and the elite meet and mingle and enjoy some grub.

Sneaky’s Tavern (Snowmass)

If  you want to be treated like a local, enjoying food that is big, bold, generous and down to earth, Sneaky’s is the place to go.  This is a particularly favorite place to grab a bite, especially during ski season when you can sit outside in the afternoon sunshine and watch the skiers have fun…huge patio!

An all time favorite restaurant located mid-valley.  You’ve got to try the BBQ salmon salad…it’s out of this world!  Everything tastes great at this Basalt restaurant.

Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro (Highlands)

The old ski patrol hut, Cloud Nine should be at the top of your list for lunch.  You’ll be dining at 10,740 feet, beneath the summit of the Cloud Nine high-speed quad. An alpine ski hut with casual table settings and outdoor deck, this full-service restaurant has incredible views of the Maroon Bells.  Make reservations.

Woody Creek Tavern

A one-of-a-kind classic and old stomping ground of Hunter S. Thompson, you gotta visit this place.  The memorabilia on the wall can keep you occupied for hours. Cheap food and cheap drinks make it all the more appealing to locals.

Top Pick39 Degrees (Sky Hotel)

If you want swank, this is your place.  Whether it’s winter or summer, you’ll find locals and tourists hanging by the pool, having a cocktail (or five), and getting their groove on to DJ Dillon.  A great spot for apres ski, especially if you’re young and hip.

Ajax Tavern

After a long day of skiing (especially when the sun is shining bright), there’s no better place to hang out, listen to a band outside, and mingle with the locals while watching the final skiers ski down.  Standing room only at times, especially when the band’s playing.

Basecamp (Snowmass)

This locally-owned and operated restaurant and bar is THE place to be for apres ski when in Snowmass.  Jam out to the band (Jes Grew plays here at times) with your ski boots on and a beer in hand while you watch the last die-hard stragglers come down the slopes.  Fun, fun, fun.
